DIYORNOT.COM launches featured videos from ulive, a broadcast network of short videos from HGTV, the DIY Network, Food Channel and other popular television programs.
DIYORNOT.COM launches its new responsive design so the screen adjusts to fit and appears on all three devices - laptops, tablet and smartphones - which melds the former mobile site m.diyornot.com into the new design.
The National Association of Real Estate Editors (NAREE) announced the winners of its 65th Annual Journalism Awards Competition, recognizing excellence in reporting, writing and editing stories about residential and commercial real estate. DIYORNOT.COM was honored with the Silver Award for Best Web Site by a panel of expert judges from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University.
A daily addition to both main and mobile sites was added that features "Today's Project".
DIYORNOT celebrates its 16th year as an online publication. Based on a newspaper column of the same name, the print edition hails back to its first publication in 1987. The long-running feature continues to appear in newspapers across the country as well as online.
Based on weekly analytics of the site a new feature "Job Cost Popular Searches" was introduced to the pages of DIYORNOT to report what job cost data that site visitors are accessing.
A ticker tape was launched to crawl across the pages of both the main and mobile sites to feature high interest job costs which site visitors frequently use. The name of the project with the DIY and PRO cost scrolls across the screen for instant access to the information.
"Bundling Home Repairs" is an article in the March issue of Real Simple magazine that features DIYORNOT. The story by Ashley Tate, covers the pros and cons of piggybacking home repairs so a homeowner hires a contractor when there are more than one repair job.
A new and improved mobile version of www.diyornot.com was launched at www.m.diyornot.com to reach the ever growing number of cell phone users accessing the Internet.
In early February Katie and Gene Hamilton of DIYORNOT were featured speakers at an AARP regional seminar discussing ideas to age proof a home. Age proofing a home is one of the most viewed topics on the web site as homeowners are seeing the benefits of making a home more comfortable and convenient for everyone who lives there.
"DIY or don't" is a slide show on MSN.com's Real Estate channel which quotes co-founder Katie Hamilton about the dos and don'ts of knowing when to hire a contractor. Here's a link to the feature
