Paint both the front and back side of the metal sheets with a good quality oil-base (alkyd) paint before installing them. Paint the back side first, let it dry and then turn it over to paint the finish side.
To secure the sheets use decorative nails spaced 12 inches apart.
Use 1/2-in. wire nails to fasten the sheet edges that will be covered with molding strips.
Wear work gloves and use a pair of tin snips to cut the metal sheets. Be careful - the metal edges are very sharp.
The concealed sheet edges are fastened with wire nails which are covered by the cornice molding. The cornice pieces hides the joint where the ceiling and wall meet.
