Before You Begin
If you're hanging the mount from the ceiling, make sure to position it far enough from the wall so it can swivel the TV for viewing. When hanging the mount on the wall, give some consideration to positioning it without being in the way of a door swing or too near a window that will cast a strong light on the screen. Another consideration is proximity to an electrical outlet. The closer the better, so there's a short run of surface-mounted channel for the electrical cord.
Unpack the TV mount hardware and study the parts to see how they fit together. Unwrap the installation hardware to become familiar with it and how it fastens the mount to the wall or ceiling. Read the installation instructions and follow them carefully.
