Step 1 : Prepare the soil
Prepare the garden bed by removing weeds, rocks and old plants. If you remove a lot of soil, add new topsoil and spread it around until the surface is level with the surrounding soil. If the soil needs amendments add fertilizer or organic matter.
Step 2 : Plant the herbs
Dig holes for each plant allowing room so they can spread out and grow. Remove the plants from their container and carefully set in the soil so they are upright and supported by soil packed around them.
Step 3 : Water with care
When planting is completed, give the plants a soft sprinkling of water and water them frequently thereafter following the watering suggestions on the plant label. Use a layer of organic mulch around the plants to reduce evaporation.
