One of the best sources of finding a fence builder is by cruising through neighborhoods with the type of house you have and the style of fence you want. Drive or bike around and if you see what you want, ask the homeowner for a reference. You may find a small sign on it identifying the fence company. When you talk with a fence builder get their input on the style and height of fence for your property. They'll know the local building code requirements and may suggest a type of fence you haven't considered. Ask for a list of referrals so you can look at the stockade fences they've installed. By looking at these earlier installations, you'll see how the fence has weathered and withstood time.
You'll find companies who build stockade fences listed under "Fence" in the Yellow Pages. Use their advertisements to narrow the selection to those who specialize in residential as opposed to commercial fences. You'll also find fence companies online by typing "stockade fencing in (your city)" in a search engine like Bing, Google or Yahoo and at contractor referral services online.
