A painting contractor or a handyman who specializes in renovation and remodeling work is a good choice for removing latex textured paint. Check bulletin boards at hardware and paint stores where you may find business cards posted for a "handyman service" that does this kind of work. Look in the Yellow Pages and ask friends and neighbors for suggestions. Another option is to use a search engine like Bing, Google or Yahoo and type "remove textured paint in (your city)" in the search box.
When you get an estimate or bid for the work it will specify how many man-hours a contractor will spend. From that you can judge how much time you could expect to spend if you did the work and compare that against the money saved.
